The staff of Town and Country Animal Hospital has a constant challenge to meet the changing needs of you and your pets. We accomplish these goals through preventive medicine, sophisticated diagnostic services, comprehensive medical and dental care and surgical expertise. To do this, we attempt to stay abreast of new developments in veterinary medicine through professional journals, attendance of continuing educational seminars, consultation with colleagues, and adopting new drugs and techniques as they become available.
Outpatient Services Outpatient services include comprehensive physical exams, vaccinations, nail trims, anal gland expression, technician consultations and medicating demonstrations along with a variety of other services.
Diagnostics As important as the proper diagnosis of an ailment or an injury is in human medicine, it takes on an even greater importance in veterinary medicine because of an inherent communication gap. Unfortunately, your pet cannot tell you or us where the pain is located, when it started or when it feels better. Diagnostics, then, becomes very important in the health care picture in veterinary medicine and includes radiology (x-rays), Cardiopet EKG's, and in-house EKG, Tonometry to test for glaucoma by measuring the pressure in the eyes, Vet Video Scope to examine ear canals and hard to reach dental areas, and clinical laboratory tests. Our hospital does offer a large variety of laboratory tests including in-house testing as well as partnerships with other diagnostic laboratories if needed.
Surgery We are equipped for both soft tissue surgery and orthopedic (bone) surgery. We use state-of-the-art anesthetic procedures and monitoring devices to monitor heart rate, respiration rate and oxygen saturation of blood for the safety of your pet along with pre-anesthetic lab tests which help to discover any pre-operative health hazards.
Dentistry The dental procedures that we routinely perform include scaling (manual and ultrasonic), polishing, extractions, gingivectomies, root planning, root canals and periodontal disease treatment.
