Senior Pet Care
At Town & Country Animal Hospital, we consider senior pets to be those that are 7 years of age and older. Once your pet reaches his or her senior years, we recommend veterinary care be expanded to include:
Semiannual Exams |
---|
Your pet will continue to receive the same care he or she was provided during normal wellness exams, but will also receive additional screening and testing specific to age, breed, and medical needs.
Nutritional Counseling |
---|
Changes in appetite and lifestyle are often two of the first signs you will notice in your senior pet. As a result, it is important that you modify his or her diet and exercise accordingly.
Diagnostic Testing |
---|
Digital radiographs, complete blood counts, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tools provide us with the resources to identify and treat diseases and conditions affecting senior cats and dogs.
